Nonstop service between Auckland and San Francisco
United announced that it will introduce nonstop flights between Auckland and its San Francisco International Airport hub, effective July 3, 2016 (eastbound), subject to government approval. United will use the world’s most advanced passenger airplane, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, to operate the flights.
The Boeing 787-8 aircraft features a total of 219 seats in two cabins – 36 in United BusinessFirst, with seats arranged in a 2-2-2 configuration, and 183 in United Economy, including 70 Economy Plus seats with added legroom and increased personal space. The 787-9 features a total of 252 seats – 48 in United Business First and 204 in United Economy, including 88 Economy Plus seats.
United changes policy and offers two free checked bags for Australia and New Zealand
United has listened to our customers and modified its second bag policy for Australia and New Zealand.
Effective for bookings and ticketing on or after November 4, 2015 and travel on or after December 17, 2015 all passengers will receive two free checked bags.
