The food scene in Steamboat Springs has exploded and the town has become a mecca for fine and casual dining in North-Western Colorado. With over 130 restaurants and bars on offer, AMPED wanted to share with you a few of our top picks to eat and drink your way through Steamboat!
Breakfast: The Paramount
Paramount is located in the mountain village and has a colourful interior that is sure to brighten anyone’s day. Its eclectic menu is full of delicious, freshly prepared food from stuffed French toast to smoked salmon with eggs and your classic avo toast.
Lunch: Slopeside Grill
Located at the base of Mt Werner, Slopeside is a great place to stop for a break on the slopes. Offers classic American cuisine with fantastic burgers, pizzas, and ribs paired with pitchers of beer and a welcoming family-friendly atmosphere.
Dinner: Salt & Lime
A bright and vibrant restaurant serving classic Mexican cuisine with a twist. With the main focus being on tacos we can guarantee that they are delicious, especially when paired with the unique craft tequila cocktails on offer at the bar.
Après-Ski: The Laundry
Although a little pricier and more upscale than a lot of the other bars on offer, those stunningly delicious cocktails are worth every penny! Swing buy through happy hour from 4:30 to 5:30 to grab a $9 cocktail of the day or make the most of the wine by the time deals.
Happy Hour: Aurum
The happy hour from 4pm – 6pm features half price bar snacks, $9 Wines, $4 Beers and $8 Cocktails and has the perfect place eat and drink; sat on couches around a firepit!
Live Music: Steamboat Whiskey Company
For art shows, live concerts, themed parties, comedy stand up, adult spelling bees and doggy pageants, the Whiskey Company is the place to go for a fun time paired with delicious locally made spirits. The company also gives back by donating a portion of sales to veteran support organisations.
Brewery: Mountain Tap Brewery
With a list of beers longer than you can imagine; Mountain Tap Brewery is the place to go for Beer Lovers. They also offer a woodfired menu – meaning that everything on the menu has spent some time in the woodfire oven, popcorn included!
Sweet Treat: Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory
For mouthwatering chocolates and candy apples nearly the size of your head, make your way to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. These candy apples are what the factory is famous for, made fresh in-store with crisp granny smith apples and dipped in thick chewy caramel and available with a variety of toppings they’re are sure to make a lasting impression.
