Engelberg is a large resort with 25 lifts that offers skiers an incredible 2,100m of vertical descent. The resort has 200 acres of pisted terrain, with 25 runs over a total length of 82 kilometres.
The town of Engelberg has its own distinct and rustic character. The Benedictine monastery founded in 1120 still has a great impact on the village, even today. Monks still live, work, and teach there.
